Ocassionaly, searches for a file that is known to exist
fails to succeed in finding the file. With further
searching, I was able to find the files under a new name.
In fact yesterday I found over 200 files that had been re-
named. Every one of them had the original 6 characters in
the name, then ~ followed by a single character and the
file type extension. For example a file that was
originaly named "400564OP1-H5.MC8" would be found
re-named as "400564~5.MC8".
This happens randomly for some unknown reason.
Can anyone exlain what might be causing this?
