No word processor/spreadsheet in WinXP?

You would have to install the Microsoft works program on
your system to get word and spreadsheet programs on
the system. As far as getting them back, if the techs
have done their jobs you shouldnt be able to get them
back. They are not on your xp cd. XP is an operating
system. If you want word processing and spread sheet
those are programs on their own disks. All xp offers for
word processing is word pad/notepad. Nothing that i know
of for spreadsheet.
