"Search" doesn't work any more!

The panel that displays when I press the Microsoft key--the one that
has My Documents and My Computer, etc. on it--also has Help and
Support, Search and Run. Help & Support, Run, and every other item on
that display work just like they always have, but Search does nothing.
Can anyone make a guess as to where it went?
