hey guys, wondering how i can disable either windows
messenger or msn messenger from logging me on all the
time. specificly whenever my comp is on it is as well and
i could be surfing the net and someone will start chatting
with me (kinda annoying)but i don't see it running in the
systray and if i terminate it in task manager it'll just
start back up in a sec. thx

Greetings Kain,

Do you have Norton Antivirus installed? Recent versions of Norton Antivirus added a new
"instant messaging scanning" feature, which can conflict with Messenger and cause it to also
keep starting. To stop it, open Norton Antivirus (Right-click on the Norton Antivirus icon in
the System Tray/Notification Area (by the clock), choose 'Open Norton Antivirus'), click
Options, then Instant Messenger then uncheck MSN Instant Messenger and click OK.
