If I were to insatll a 2nd hard drive. I have my system
set to stand after 10 minutes after another 10 minutes go
into hibernation. If I am using the first drive only,
will my 2nd drive automatically shut down until called
upon?

Yes. it should. Hibernation copies teh contents of the RAM to a file =
[hiberfil.sys] and shuts down the unit.
