Messenger disconnects from .NET

Hi,
I am currently using Windows Messenger 4.7 on Win XP SP1a

When I leave Messenger running, after a short while, I
have noticed if I change my online status, I get a
message saying that mu status could not be changed as I
had been disconnected from the .NET service.. This
happens without fail evertime I leave it alone for even 5
minutes..

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

If you are on DSL, maybe your router/modem settings are for 'on demand' and
may disconnect after a period of inactivity.

Hi Marc,

Yes, I am on an ADSL router, though it isn't set to "on
demand", and this problem doesn't occur in MSN 6.1 (but
don't like using it has it cause my router to hang if I
try to use file transfers.
