REQ: My Backup 'copy' is not bootable.

I tested a backup/restore program to try to copy a working, bootable
XP drive to a second drive. I used the 'make disk bootable' option in
said program.

The result looks great - files all seem there/intact. However, the
copy is good as far as I'm concerned if I can boot it (if I ever have
to). So I switched drives, making the backup drive c drive and tried
rebooting. It gets to first XP logo and hangs forever. So I guess I
need to add something(s) to make the thing bootable.

I have no idea what I might have missed when I did the copy, but can
anyone tell me what to do to make this backup drive bootable?
