Sorry for the post to multiple newsgroups.
(The rpc & Nt authority shutdown error has appeared in each of these
newsgroups)

To keep the computer from shutting down.
type shutdown -a In the startmenu run box.


A few bugs from stopping shutdown.
It will lock the modem. You need to power off the computer to
disconnect from the internet.

Ie will not open in new windows. You can still browser.
It will be slower.

Their may be other bugs.

Then you can read all about the error.
