installing xp over me

I have a question- should I install xp over Me, or do a
complete install? Do I have to reformat my hard drive, or
can I just uninstall me & install xp?

I never did use ME, but I would imagine you can install XP over ME (it
should note that you are upgrading), and this would keep many of your
settings from the ME install. I can't imagine that you would have to
uninstall ME first, and in no case should you have to reformat the hard
drive.
