Wierd actions when typing

Everytime i use the keyboard it causes my music to skip in the background
and also if i hold down the ctrl key and then try to select multiple items
it freezes the computer till i let go of the key. Has anyone seen this
before? Thanks in advance for any help.

My first thought was that the CD was getting knocked around by the impact
of typing. However, you go on to say that you have other input problems
with the keyboard. Have you tried a different keyboard?

Try these:
1. Turn speech input off.
2. Mute microphone.
3. Disable Accessibility Utilities.
