View Full Version : Is there a way I can 'Lock' my icon's position on Desktop??

Right after installing XP a few months back, I arranged
my desktop icons 'free-from' where ever I wanted on the
screen. I would put my game icons in the lower right, and
the rest in the upper left portion of the screen. But
after installing BF1942 Desert Combat, I wasn't expecting
all the icons to snap back to one whole group in the
upper right. After exiting out of the game, I would move
all the icons back to where they were, but then they
would just snap back to the single group after I exited
Desert Combat again.

Anyone know if there is a free program I can download
that will LOCK the icons in there position after I move
them to where I want on the desktop, and then Keep them
there after I exit out of a game?

Thanks all.

ME,
Set the icons where you want them and then RIGHT click an
empty place on your desktop and from the resulting menu, select
ARRANGE ICONS and make sure that NONE of the first
7 items are checked. If any of them are checked, UNcheck them and
then hit APPLY and OK your way out... A reboot afterwards wouldn't
hurt.
