lost com3 port

somehow I have lost my com3 port. how do I install it
again. my modum recognizes com3, but device manager says
com3 is not there. HELP

The only thing you'll see in the ports branch of device manager are physical
ports or a port emulated by an unusual piece of software. Most internal
modems use emulated com ports. These will never show up under the ports
branch in device manager.
