My friend recently bought an 8X card and found out that
his motherboard could only support 2X/4X AGP. What's odd
is that I have the same card, and my motherboard only
runs 2X/4X AGP. Try to find out the brand and model of
your board and search around for problems with 8X AGP
cards.
