Incoming Call Notification

On my laptop I installed Windows XP & it defaulted to
providing me a message notification of any incoming call
using the same telephone line as my modem. The
notification includes caller ID. I recently purchased a
desktop that had an OEM version of Windows XP that is not
defaulting to this incoming call notification. How do I
turn this option on in Windows XP?

That is not a function of XP. That's a function of 3rd party software,
generally, but not always, in conjunction with v.92 class modems.
