Downloading Current Windows

I recently downloaded the newest updates to my Windows
XP..I have never done this in the 2 1/2 yrs since I owned
my computer (Compaq) It is saying downloading files..& it
is blue to the end of the bar stating 1.9mb..but it goes
no further to install. I had let it like this for about
6 hrs one nite..then I just ended up cancelling out of it
because it took so long & figured I would try again.
Every time I go in to do the update. it shows it is at
the 1.9mb but it goes no further. It has been this way
for 3 1/2 hrs today .. what should I do .. because it
told me there were 41 critical updates..I am trying to
load the express pack. I look forward to your response.

You may be a victim of the W32.Blaster.Worm. Go to

you have to format your hard drive clean (lose all your data) and then do a
clean install of XP Home.

Windows XP Pro includes even more then is in XP Home. You gain nothing by
doing this.
