I'm using Symantec WinFax Pro 10.1 with Windows XP.
I have the fax software setup to answer after 4 rings. My phone number rings 3 times then goes to voice mail, the fax number rings (on the same line) until the fax picks up. Sounds great.
Except that when I let the phone go to voice mail, the fax software or modem restarts windows. The modem detects the ringing, but won't answer until after 4 rings, but when the call gets picked up, the system restarts.

Any thoughts?

Have you tried the Symantec Knowledge base?

I did, but I think the problem is with the modem. It seems to only setup when its on the "TAPI" port. The ESS modem just tells XP to restart if the call is answered or goes to voicemail...
