is there anyway on WinXP to click only once to have a
program start. I want to be able to only click once and
not have to double click to open a program.

Start | Settings | Control Panel | Folder Options |
General tab | Check: Single click to open an item |
Apply | OK

Go to Start > Settings > Control Panel > Folder Options > Single-Click

From any Windows Explorer window....


Tools...Folder Options
