ive been asked to download a security patch but im not
sure if im running 32 or 64 bit xp how do i find out

If you don't know, it's 32 bit. The 64 bit version of XP is a special
version that runs on very expensive machines.

You have 32bit most likely

If you have XP Home it is for sure 32bit.

If you have XP Pro..Right click on My Computer and select Properties. If
you see 64-bit in there anywhere u have 64 it it does not say 64 then u have
32.
