Can anyone help? My Systemax computer which is running xp
home version is running slow due to spy/adware. I want to
install spybot but I'm not sure how to proceed. At system
bootup, 4 users account are seen on the main screen. Do I
need to install spybot on each users account? Is there a
way to install on one user and have that user scan and
protect all 4 users at one time? Do I have to create a
administrators account or something? Any assistance will
be really appreciated.

Install it on the Admin account (use Control Panel, Users to see which one
is the admin account). I think that's all you need to do, but check the
documentation that comes with it.

Install in account that has administrator privileges or as administrator.
There will allready be an Administrator account on yr sys - if default
possibly with a blank password unless you gave a password on setup. DO NOT
forget password if using one

SpyBot S & D takes a little time to get to know if you use the advanced options. The other posts are basically correct but it seems obvious they haven't used or don't use SpyBot Search and Destroy. You don't need to do anything. Simply install it and it wi
ll be placed in the correct folder to be accessed by any user. Once you run it, the program checks everything and everyone as it does the check through the registry which is common to all users. In other words: although you have four users with various con
figuration differences you do not have four seperate and distinct Registries, just one. That's what SpyBot checks. Good luck.
