I've asked this question twice already but must not be
very clear in my communication skills. I'll try once
more.
MY BIOS IS SET TO READ THE CD-ROM first.
MY BIOS IS SET TO READ THE FLOPPY second.
My BIOS IS SET TO READ THE HD third.
My BIOS has always been set this way.
With that said yet again, please don't answer again that
I need to change my BIOS boot order.
I have a Win98 Master CD, full license.
I have a Win-XP Home upgrade CD.
I am running Win-XP Home edition but the system needs to
be rebuilt so I want to FORMAT the C-drive and rebuild
the OS.
I put the Win-XP disk in the CD reader. The system will
not boot from the CD - it boots as normal from the C-
drive.
How can I blow away the OS and force the system to FORMAT
the disk again? What do I need to do?
Does the UPGRADE CD not allow formatting or reinstalling
or whatever?
thanks,
jim
