I am unable to open attachments i e-mail that is sent to
me. Outlook Express deletes the attachments saying that
they are harmful. I've seen the attachments and see no
harm in the articles sent. Does anyone know how I can
rectify my problem, since I am new to the computer world
and am learning daily. Also, I am trying popup
eliminator but many still get through. What is the best
way to stop them?

Google search on "Outlook Express Denies Access to" gives 6,400 hits in
0.11 secs.

Hi
In Outlook Express - go to Tools>Options>Security and uncheck 'Do not =
allow attachments to be saved...'. Please make sure that if you do =
uncheck this option you virus check all attachments before opening them.

The original poster pointed out that he was new to computing. He may not yet
have mastered searching newsgroups or the web for answers. What we really
need is a newsgroup for newusers to ask simple questions in, so they dont
annoy you. Perhaps it could be called microsoft.public.windowsxp.newusers
Surely if they posted such questions to such a newsgroup, idiots like you
wouldn't post ****ty put-down replies.
Hope the sarcasm isn't lost on you.

Greetings --
Outlook Express' default security settings are simply trying to
protect you. OE has no way of telling whether an attachment actually
contains a virus or not, so it temporarily blocks any of those file
types that could potentially contain a virus. In Outlook Express,
Tools > Options > Security, uncheck the "Do not allow attachments to
be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus" option, assuming
you trust the source, of course. The wiser course of action, however,
would be to modify your list of unsafe files, as outlined in the KB
articles below:
