Xp hangs

Hi, I am also living through a similar problem working
with my photos. I look at the logs and find messages
about "Hanging application: iexplore.exe, another for
Winword.exe, another for mmc.exe" Since these are all
Windows internal applications, I do not know what to do
about these...
