This morning I lost my start menu and task bar on the computer. Even if I
do a ctrl-esc or press the "window" key, I do not get the start menu then
either.
The only change that has been made to this computer since yesterday is when
I got onto the PC this morning my fiance was the last to use it. We use
the XP User Display from Doug Knox site, so that the fiance can have his
800X600 display in his profile and I can have my 1024X768 display in my
profile.
I have been using this utility for 2 weeks now without a problem. And
deleting the file isn't resetting it to bring back the menu.
On the other hand - I posted a few weeks back about this same Laptop having
problems with the external display. (the video card is setup for dual
displays, but the system will not send the wakeup call to the external
display to take it out of powersave mode. I spent 4 hrs on line with
toshiba tech support and they could not resolve the problem.)
Any ideas on how to get my start menu back? I can navigate without it -
but it is a PITA.
