is it possible to rad the dvd drive from the 2nd computer
to the host computer, as i wish to install software,
which is dvd format, and the 2nd cmputer has no dvd
drive , so hence the question

The quickest solution would be to (temporarily) fit the drive in the machine
you want to install on .
The connections will be identical to the existing CD drive. If the PC has a
main drive and a single CD drive, you will need to set the jumper to 'slave'
then connect it to the spare power and IDE cable plugs you'll find coming
off the CD drive. With luck there'll be a spare bay next to it.
You'll also need the DVD drive install CD.
It's certainly faster than setting up and configuring a network connection
from scatch, which is your other option.

It is possible to share a DVD drive on the host computer just like any other
drive on the host computer for DATA.
Trying to view a DVD through a network connection does not work with Win DVD
version 4. Just tried it.
