I have had to HP printers on this computer. every time I
reboot the computer keeps autodetecting and saying faound
new hardware. even though the printer is working fine it
keeps opening the found new hardware and saying
installation failed access is denied. I have tried to
clear the box over a hundred times in one sitting and it
still keeps autodetecting the printer.any help would be
appreciated.

Change the LPT setting in the BIOS to EPP.

>First off if this was a ltp printer you would not get
found new hardware so it must be usb.....second off the
correct setting for lpt prints in bios is ecp
but dont worry about about that as that setting is not
going to help you.........
because you can print is this cannon a all in one?
if so the scanner may not be installed.......
first off the access denied says the accont your on does
not have admin access....

No, in XP it's EPP in 99% of cases. I've already checked with the "Port
Guys" at MS...
