operating system back-up

I am a new user, and I don't know how to create a system
back-up disk. I also want to save my Outlook contacts on
a CD, how do I do that?

The contacts can be found in a WAB file. Right-click the item for the
Address Book in your Start Menu and open its Properties. You will find
the actual file location here.
To backup the OS you can use NTBACKUP. If you are running the
Professional Edition you can use the ASR Wizard in NTBACKUP for this
purpose, else you may want to buy a third-party backup program with
enhanced features to do this.
