nero hangs at 6%

Hi,
A few months ago I have been unable to write data to cd using nero.
The software seems to hang at 6% but there is no message and the whole of
windows freezes. the hard disk and cd writer keeps going but nothing happens
on screen forcing me to reboot my pc. also when I write an audio disk nero
shuffles the order of the play list. I got these problems on nero 5.5 up to
the new 6 demo.my cd writer is TEAC CD-W516EB and i am now using windows xp
pro latest service pack and fully up to date with windows updates and all
other drivers.the problems started in may after 11/2 year nero usage. Also
in nero 6 i keep getting a device in use error when the device isnt.
I tried using windows cd writing software but keep getting no disk in drive
insert a cd in drive from the wizard I have tried serveral makes of cd r and
cdrw.
Please help as I need to back up my data.Thanks in advance

What has this to do with MS or Windows? Contact Ahead technical support.
Just because you're running the application under XP doesn't make it
Microsoft's problem.

Hi,
I posted here because I thought maybe someone else has
come across a problem like this, also if the software has
been happily working for a over a year and something I
may have done or a windows update may have done to annoy
it.I have been getting windows explorer hangs and this
started about the same time so it could be a windows
problems especially when I have explored all of aheads
avenues.
Does anyone else have any ideas?

What part of "this is not a Windows issue" are you having problems with,
exactly?! Have you actually called Ahead?

I have explored all of aheads avenues, ie I have
contacted them, "a windows problem" cannot help.
