rpc error

Hello

I am a computer novice. I have a problem with my pc every
time I log onto the net I get a remote procedure error and
this causes my pc to reboot does anybody know anything
about this problem is it just a software problem a virus
what I have no idea. My is also a bit more buggy at the
moment slower to start etc etc.

Windows XP

Any help would be much appreciated i am in a internet cafe
at the moment so a prompt reply would be fantastic
