Quicktime Player problems

Hey,

I am not sure if this is really the place to ask but
here's the deal. I have installed Quicktime but I can't
get the player to appear. There are no problems
installing it but when I try to open it...nothing. I can
still play .mov files like trailers in web browsers
though. I've tried v6.5 and then 6.1 but the same thing
happens. I seem to be running these programs with the
right compatabilities. This seems vaguely familiar and I
was hoping someone else knows what's up. It's odd
because there's no error message or anything just the
player doesn't appear...
