you may have to tweak the memory settings...
though gwbasic may be difficult to run if at all possible.

you may want to try "command" rather than "cmd"

or try the emulator dos box

Gwbasic only runs on XP Pro

the few differences between XP home and pro should have nothing to to with
cmd

True, but GwBasic only runs on XP Pro.

How could that be?

It's like many other programs, like Backup.
The Backup program works like it should on XP Pro including Restore,
but XP Home doesn't do the Restore.
So unless you install a 3rd party program you are stuck.

What the heck are you talking about. Restore with NTBackup works fine on XP
Home.

You're either misinformed or trolling for hassles; you are
entirely wrong.

Backup works fine on either; so does the other. If you can't
answer the OPs questions, why don't you take it to a new thread -
you're off topic.

Misinformation and wrong information on a newsgroup has NO room
to exist. To accept that, then the entire newsgroup is useless
today. I mean, more useless than normal.
