View Full Version : Your help needed please- System restore

I want to try and get this System Restore problem resolved. As stated
previously my last 2 restore points 14th & 17th Jan took 1 1/2 & 2 1/2 hours
respectively to action. This made me think there was a problem with those
points (could be wrong, as very inexperienced in XP). I thought perhaps I
should go back to an earlier one and try again. What does everyone think?
Help greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your reply, I had already looked there before sending message,
unfortunately the answer isn't there.

Personally I haven't had a system restore take that long .....
Apart from the time it takes, is there a particular problem with system restore?

No it seems to 'work' okay, I get the message at the end saying it has been
successfully restored to the date given. Just worried that being as it
takes so long that there is a problem. If I hadn't done it on the earlier
dates and they probably took about 20 mins or so, then I probably wouldn't
have thought about it apart from thinking I wouldn't want to do that again.

Best thing to do is go back to the oldest restore you have. See how long
that takes.

Thanks Frank, I thought I'd give that a go. There will be progs that are not
installed on that date I think I read on one of the Help sections that if
that is the case to 'uninstall' those progs before I go to that System
Restore date. or have I got that mixed up with something else?
