A simple question ... for you anyway ... How can I copy
or backup to a CD. I cant find "File Folders &
Tasks" ... when just trying to copy to the cd I get
the "DVD Corrupted or not correct foremat" notice. The
CD is copyable from my Windows 98 PC.
Thank you
Alyssia

Did you use packet writing software like Direct CD or InCD on your Win98
system to format the CD? If so XP's built in recording software can't write
to packet formatted disks. Check Alex Nichol's site for good info on CD
Burning win XP. I have a link here

XP is only capable of making udf formatted CD.
What you're attempting to make will be in ISO 9660 format, and will be made
in two sessions initially. Any further backup files will have to be backed
up in another session.

> I'm new to XP, I don't have a floppy, but DO have a writeable CD. I want
to create a backup boot CD. I've gone to MSN Help and found the
instructions to backup my system/boot files, clicked on what appears to be
my CD drive, but it asks me for a "file name" and then tells me that the
name is invalid and/or I don't have access to the drive. I've tried names
like "boot", "startup", etc. -- simple names.

machine and I wasn't here when the guy put it together) because AOL has been
loaded -- so the CD MUST be working !! (Although I haven't figured out yet
how to actually determine that LOL!).
