internet connection

Hi,
Before installing the service pack, whenever any program needed internet
access my pppoe connection connected automatically. Now, it does open
connection dialer automatically, but doesn't connect until I click connect.
Everytime it shows connect automatically check box; I check it everytime,
but still I have the same problem. What can I do to make it connect
automatically whenever internet connection is required?
