Clyde:
I have found that if you go to Tools, Options, Send, set Html for mail, HTML
Settings, and check send Pictures, click OK, Apply.
You can Then insert pictures into your Mail. I hope this helps.

There are so many types of scanner and software its difficult not to be
general
Set your scanner to 'colour pictures' then choose a medium resolution or
quality setting.
Then saving the output file as a .jpg (or jpeg) type file is best for email
purposes.
Emailing friends with Hotmail accounts will mean keeping the filesize down
to less than 1 MB. A normal snapshot type photo at reasonable-to-high
quality setting will be about 200-300KB in size.
Hope this helps.
