I have a Canon i470D printer and it works just fine...test page worked...I've printed some pages...etc..
The problem is that every time I open it, a "Found New Hardware" pop-up window from WinXP says that:

"There was a problem installing this hardware:
Canon i470D
An error ocurred during the installation of the device
The system cannot find the file specified."

oh yea its connected with USB..can anyone help..Thanks

Uninstall and reinstall as per

http://www.coribright.com/Windows/Article%20One.htm

After the reboot, download a new set of drivers from Canon. Install the
software... do NOT reconnect the printer until the software tells you to do
so.
