update problem

I downloaded mdac 2.8 and installed.then I tried to download kb832483 which
the ms site said I needed to update .while downloading and
installing ,I got a message" mdac hotfix installer has encountered an
problem and needs to close." which I reported.then I saw a ms windows update
status which showed I installed it(kb832483) 15 times.I still get the
message to
update kb832483 when I reboot.So I guess I got it but auto update doesn't
know it.
