I made the mistake of disabling the rpclocator through the
services utility and now I cannot re-enable the
rpclocator. Is there a setting I can change in the
registry that will enable this service? The system type
is an HP Pavilion 5719.

If you have disabled it:
To re-enable the disabled RPC service.
To get the service restarted (MVP Bill James):
You will need to use your XP CD to boot to the Recovery Console, then type
the command: Enable RPCSS Service_Auto_Start
Then press the Enter key to submit the command. Then type: exit
and press Return to restart the computer.
