In Outlook and some other applications, I click on a link and nothing
happens. It used to work just fine. Would you know how to correct
this?

Can't speak for Outlook, but this works for OE. Use accordingly:

Go to Start/Run and type in: regsvr32 urlmon.dll. Then go to:
IE/Tools/Internet Options/Programs/Reset Web Settings.
