missing files

i just had transferred pictures from my digital camera to
my computer. i made a folder and placed the pictures in
there. i even viewed them after as if i would view any
other photo using the picture viewer. then the next day i
turned on the computer...and the folder where the photos
was saved was gone. i know i didn't delete anything
because my recycling bin was empty, but if it did happen
how do i restore it(even if the recycling bin is empty).
But is there any other way that the photos could have
been moved or deleted?

Have you used your search feature to look for the folder on all your drives?
