Usually you get the message when the file is in use. What file are you
trying to delete and how are you trying to do it? If you want to remove
a program, you want to do it with the Add/Remove Programs applet in
Control Panel. Post back with a better description of what you're doing
if you want more help.

I am trying to delete Norton Ani-Virus 2002 Version 8. I go to uninstall in the program file and I get the message it cant access the NAV.MSI from the disk it can be installed from. I put in the installation disk and it cant find that file. I go to the pro
gram files and find NAV.MSI but it tells me it is not there. I go to add, remove in the control panel I get the message the MIcrosoft Installer cant be found. I try just delete the folder and I am given the message in the original posting. I try to diable
it so it does not recognize that it is in use and that doesn't work. It's like Norton Hell and I can't get out. Norton no longer provides support. I try to re-install the Norton 2002 in the hopes that maybe there is a problem with the original installation
and then maybe I can uninstall it. It tells me it is already on the computer and stops the install process. I am trying to install another anti virus program and get rid of Norton. I am stumped. I fyou can get me out of this I would be forever grateful. W

Symantec has an uninstaller for this product on their website. Here's a
