I have two partitions on one physical drive that I want to merge. If I
format the drive, will this merge them? If not, what are my options? I do
Partition Magic 8, but for some reason it is not allowing me that option no
matter what. TIA.

Hi,
Formatting will not merge them. You need a utility like PM8 to do this, only
a few of these offer that function. If you do NOT want to save the data,
then simply use PM8 to delete the one you do not want, then expand the
remaining one to encompass the free space.
Be cautious with partitioning, there are some inherent dangers, and loss of
existing data is always a possibility.
