To change the base language, you need to do a clean installation of WinXP
using the appropriate language version. You can't change otherwise. Language
support adds the ability to communicate in other languages, it does not
change the base OS language. It can be accessed in the control
panel/regional and language options/languages tab/details.

No, that is incorrect. The _Multilingual_User_Interface_ changes the
language of the system for certain users. Otherwise it wouldn't be called
that.

You've now been told you're wrong by three people - how many more is it
going to take to convince you...Let's see who people are going to
believe...a 14 year old whose computing knowledge is limited to Counter
Strike, who isn't an MVP or a member of Microsoft's Expert Zone or a
30-something who has been using computers since before you were born, is
both an MVP and a member of the Expert Zone and who uses computers daily in
his job as a bank manager?

At least you've conceded that it's only for "certain users" - so you're
getting there - it isn't available to home users - never has been, and
probably never will be. So, for the purposes of all questions pertaining to
the changing of language Rick, Nicholas, Jupiter Jones, myself and the rest
of the MVPs are correct. The fact it's available to Open and/or Volume
licence customers doesn't help those who bought it off the shelf in their
local software emporium, does it?

I guess we just have to be thankful for small mercies...

If my computer knowledge is limited to counterstrike (btw, never played it,
as I am not a big computer gammer), then how come I've built, and fixed
numerous computers, without *any* problems. And how come I'm taking
multiple computer courses ahead of my grade, with honours? As well, I have
countered more than a few misconceptions in these NGs, and supported it with
facts. And like you said, "just because they are an MVP, doesn't mean they
are always right."

And I don't know what type of point your making saying that you use
computers daily in your job as a bank manager. Millions of people use
computers in their workplace, but most only have the computer knowledge
required for the job.

So basically, are you not saying that this is *completely* correct:
"There is a MUI for Office (applies to VL only) but not Windows."
As it ways your own words.

Whether or not its only available to VL is beside the point, as, according
to you, it's not available for windows at all.

P.S. Please provide your real name so that I can confirm that you are
actually an MVP.

I will give you the credit of saying that you are very knowledgeable, but
you are rude, not always 100% correct, and will almost never admit when you
are wrong.
....not to mention you have a chip on your shoulder the size of North
America.

As well, when you say "his" are you referring to yourself in the third
person? If so, you had me fooled, with a name like Cassandra, I thought you
were female. I do sincerely hope you are not confused.

Hmm... She does make a good point, but I only do this because I don't like
the way PXD talks to innocent NG users. Keyword - innocent, I don't really
care if she tells someone to "search the damn newsgroup" because they are
asking a question that has been answered hundreds and hundreds of times. I
don't appreciate it when she calls people ****wits, and/or blows up on them
because they made a careless mistake. That's why the OP was titled BE
POLITE. There's no need for rude language, especially in a newsgroup.
