I am now using my old computer with Windows 98. I just
took an automatic update from Microsoft for the Windows XP
Media Player on my other new computer. I think this was
update V4, I missed all of the identity, but was notified
of the update automatically at 9:15pm this evening. Since
taking the update, once my computer shut down, it refuses
to restart. I have attempted to use the "restore"
feature, prior to the update, but no luck. It just
keeping attempting to restart to no avail. Anyone know
what I can do.

Thanks

Hi Ed,

Can you at least get to the boot menu? Hit F8 at boot to do this.
If so, have you tried Safe mode or the Last Known good config yet?
If so, what happens?
