hi, when my Win XP was installed, there was a mix-up and
the registration name was typed wrongly. When I tried to
rename the folder under \Documents and Settings\, the
prompt says that as it is required for Win to run
properly, the folder cannot be renamed or moved. Is there
anyway i can rename it without reinstalling Windows?
Thanks.

Kelly has a fix at line 7, right: "change registered owner and
organization" (note: organization can be home, if you like)

Try this fix:

http://www.angelfire.com/dragon/sramesh2k/ChangeOwner.exe

Changes the registered owner name in registry.

Or, are you referring to renaming the user profile homedir?
