It seems I have lost Plug and Play support for my PC (running Windows XP Pro
with Norton System Works. Can anyone help please?

Essentially, this loss means that I am unable to connect PnP devices. Also,
if I want to update drivers and choose manufacturer and location that
facility is greyed out. Quite what I have done to cause this (on two
seperate occassions - the first time I completely rebuilt my machine -
because I was due an upgrade anyway) I do not know. I am reluctant to
reformat and rebuild again. I have tried (previously not recently)
re-installing windows 'over the top' but that does not seem to cure the lost
plug and play support.

My machine is running but it does mean I have difficulty in supporting my
pda (ipaq 1930). When I active synch (by usb connection) it knocks out my
Logitech infra red mouse. Any help would be greatly appreciated please.

Check in BIOS to see if it enabled.
