Hi to all...
I want to remove windows xp default screensavers from the system, I
don't want to delete by search for *.scr and delete, I want to remove
so that I can add it when I need it ... In windows 98 we have a option
in Add/Remove Windows components.. Like that do we have any option in
Windows Xp.. I searched I couldn't get any...
thanks for the help

Windows XP has a default screen saver called logon.scr, which runs even if
no screen saver has been selected. This can present a security risk, as it
can allow a local user to replace logon.scr with another program and have it
launched with system privileges.
To Disable this Locally open regedit to the following key
Key: [HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\Desktop]
Name: ScreenSaveActive
Type: REG_SZ (String Value)
Value: (0 = disabled, 1 =enabled)
Restart Windows for the change to take effect.
Note: An alternative screen saver can be used, if disabling is not an
option, simple change the value of 'SCRNSAVE.EXE' in the same to key, to
equal the full path of the screen saver you wish to use.
