If I try 'last good configuration' then it boots but won't shut down,=20
pausing forever after it has saved my settings.
If I try 'start windows normally' then it doesn't even boot, just cycles =
the=20
blue bar endlessly.
If I try 'safe mode' then it works the best, and I can install drivers =
and=20
even get it connected to the internet properly
Still even after installing drivers for everything in the device manager =
it=20
won't work normally in normal mode. A fresh install didn't fix it. There =
are a few suspicious things I have found which may help others=20
diagnose the problem:
In safe mode I keep getting 7026 events, saying it couldn't load=20
AmdK7.sys or fips.sys drivers. If I change my processor driver to the=20
only other choice, processor.sys, then it just replaces AmdK7 in the=20
event log. And I have no idea what fips is a driver for, because I=20
checked everything in the device manager and none seemed to use=20
fips.
The other suspicious thing is it keeps seeing a floppy drive in the=20
device manager, yet none is installed and the floppy disk controller is=20
even disabled in my BIOS. But maybe that's a motherboard problem. I=20
don't need the floppy or anything but it seemed suspicious enough to=20
post here.
Also I hope this is the right place to post because I am new to Windows=20
but this seems a little more complicated than some questions. Thanks=20
