Outlook express

First of all, open Outlook Express. Go to
Tools/Options/Security. Uncheck the box "Do not allow
attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially
be a virus"
If that does not allow ou to open attachments, select
the message which has the attachment and click"Forward".
When this appears on your screen, do not forward it, but
you can then open the attachment from this message.
This workaround always works for me..
