More often than not, winXP Pro System Restore tells me that my system could
not be restored to an earlier time.
Aside from GoBack, are there stand alone system restore programs that are
more reliable? Please post reply or feel free to email to me. BTW,
SecondChance worked well for me, but is not compatible with winXP.
Thanks

There are several you can use,
I like Partition Magic, but there is also one called BootIt NG, both can
create a bootable mirror image on the last part of your hard drive so you
can recover from a major crash.
You can also create a System Restore date any time you want, by going to the
System Restore window.
This is a good practice if you leave your computer on 24 hours a day 7 days
a week.

As a secondary backup I use erunt.zip, a small freeware utility.

While I'm sure that Joe Ordia appreciates all your fine suggestions, I would
wonder why he is not more concerned about the more pertinent issue,
vis-a-vis, the reason(s) that he is unable to restore his system to an
earlier time.

I appreciate the help and suggestions from Squire, Maureen and Alan. Alan
has a good point, but I assumed, rightly or wrongly, that failure to restore
to an earlier restore point was just a flaw in the operating system! I
stand to be corrected.
Cheers
