I am running another OS on a second computer and want to
install XP. The current OS will not reconize the XP disk.

First, is this a copy of Windows XP that is already installed on one
machine? If so, go buy another copy of XP to install on that computer. One
copy per computer. You will have to activate it once you buy and install
it.
Second, What OS is the computer running?

Greetings --
Simply boot from the WinXP installation CD. You'll be offered the
opportunity to delete, create, and format partitions as part of the
installation process. (You may need to re-arrange the order of boot
devices in the PC's BIOS to boot from the CD.)
